This command melds Dreamweaver's Create Photo Album version 1 command with my JustSo Picture Window behavior. So in addition to the standard Create Photo Album options, you can now pop up JustSo windows: an image window which can be either full-screen (no matter the screen resolution) or instead "hug" the borders of an image, with or without a border of your choice of bgcolor. The image itself is displayed full-size or sized downwards if needed to fit on lower resolution monitors. So one always gets to see the full image no matter the monitor resolution, with aspect ratio maintained. Clicking anywhere closes the popup. See JustSo Picture Window for more details. Fireworks is required - as it creates the thumbnails.

One of the powerful additions this Command adds to the native MM Create Web Photo Album command is the option of adding the thumbnail images to the current document rather than having a new index page created:
1) being able to add thumbnails to the _current_ document is extremely useful, as this broadens the application of the command to situations other than just massive photo albums.
2) being able to apply this even to template-based pages adds additional control and broadens its application even further. (The Command will - after obtaining your explicit permission - update the page's template.)
3) JustSo Popup windows, although they do not allow for navigation from image screen to image screen, do mean that sites with several hundred images need not have a separate page for each, simplifying ongoing maintenance and dramatically shrinking site size on the server. (However it cannot be applied to on-the-fly database-driven pages.)
And if you do choose to make the original style of Photo Album with separate, individual navigation pages, now the image names on each page are formatted in a more friendly fashion. And you can even sort the images using the alpha/numeric sort routine.
Tips:
Choice of Events: By default, the command uses '(onClick)'
as the Event, and enters 'javascript:;' in the link field. Should you
decide to change the default Event to any of the NON-'href=' events,
do NOT put anything into the link field as Netscape browsers do not support
this. I.e. if you use an event in parentheses , like (onClick)
or (onMouseUp), in the Behavior Window, then you must have the "#" or "javascript:;" in
the Link field, but if you use the _other_ events, the ones without parentheses,
then NN refuses to work if you have anything in the Link field.
Broken image icons: If the thumbnail page generated contains broken image icons, simply save, close and reopen the page. We are investigating this oddity.

This command applies the JustSo Picture Window behavior to an entire directory of images. So for some examples of just what you get:: JustSo Picture Window Examples page.
Here is a beautifully done site that uses jspa - but be forewarned - it contains galleries of female fine nude art photography.

1) "error at line 514: gSourceExtension is not defined" is generated when you attempt to use the No Compression option.Versions 1.6.2+ resolve this very nicely by passing the original image right through untouched.
2) It has been found by two individuals that Netcape 6.0 on Windows2000 crashes if the user clicks away from the popup window to close it. It now seems that 6.1 works fine (except perhaps on the Mac) We are investigating, and I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can either confirm or refute this. A workaround seems to be the following: in the vwd_justsopw.js file, replace the line that says
newWindow.focus() ;
with
if ((document.all || document.layers ) || (document.getElementById && navigator.userAgent.indexOf('NT') == -1)) newWindow.focus();
This code
is not needed for Netscape 7+ (leaving the possible Mac6.1 issue unhandled.)
3) Fireworks freezes: One user reports: "Concerning the problem that I reported to you of Dreamweaver "freezing" when using "JustSo Photo Album" intermittently with anywhere from 40 to near 200 jpg files: I discovered that if I startup Fireworks before initiating "JustSo Photo Album", it works every time (with up to 183 jpg files so far) (no "freezing")." Macromedia has told me that FW has a memory-handling problem, (ver 4, ??MX?) so large numbers of images may choke both their WebPhotoAlbum Extension and this JSPhotoAlbum one. So try having FW open before calling this Command and see if that helps. Also, be aware that on rare occasions an image may have a corrupted header. This wll definitely choke FW. Only trial and error can locate the offending image.
4) v1.6.3 fixes a bug in the Create Pages routine, only of concern for those rare folks who create new, navigable pages with a photo on each page - (the antithesis of justso picture window really.)
